A very special thanks to Vince for taking time out of his busy schedule to grant this interview.

Thanks, also, to all the fans who sent in questions.  Unfortunately, time did not allow us to get to all of them, but they are very much appreciated.

The number one question from the fans was:  Are there any new developments on the I-Man movie front?

Vince:  No, there aren’t, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.  I think a lot of times it’s okay to give a project some space and then at some point I think it will be about revisiting it and asking the right person are they interested.  I think there are so many different ways to develop the concept of the movie and the prototype of Firefly has certainly already been set…the precedent of that.  So if that opens, it does well, I think that could be good for us.  And I think just like we’re fans of the show, I think we have to find a couple of executives who are the same way we feel; and I know they’re out there.  I think a lot of it is timing, a couple of things falling into place, and it’s completely not unheard of.  I can totally see this becoming a movie.  But then again…if you’re asking me, not that you asked this, but if someone asked me do I think it would be made into movie, I would say there’s a slim chance.  But there’s a chance, so that excites me.

We’re really excited about your new show Complete Savages and one of the fans asked, how did you land your role as Jimmy?

Vince:  Like every other role.  It’s so random.  You get a script.  You read the script.  You go and meet producers.  You read for the part.  They offer you the job.  You take the job.  You shoot the pilot.  Usually it doesn’t get picked up.  It gets picked up.  We’re going to do 13 episodes.  We’re in the middle of that 13 episodes and that’s it.  It’s as simple as that.  You know, I read for tons of shows this year.  I read for Lost.  I read for a lot of things, but…not everybody wants to hire you.  Mel Gibson was producing this and that was cool to me ‘cause I’m a big fan of his and the show runners Mike and Julie Scully were writers on The Simpsons.  And I thought those were people that I’d like to be in business with.  And the biggest reason of all is…I’m older now…is that they are really nice.

What is your character like?

Vince:  It’s…sort of a work in progress still.  I am literally the younger brother to Keith Carradine who plays the father of five kids.  And actually I got the part because I read originally for the part of the father, but they didn’t think I looked old enough and then after they cast Keith they said will you come back in and read for his little brother and I said sure.  And I loved Keith and all the kids were great, so I’m just the younger…I’m Uncle Jimmy.

All the fans were thrilled when you and Paul got together in Las Vegas and we’d love to see you guys do another guest role together in that.  Is there any mention of those characters coming back in that show?

Vince:  I sort of thought that there would…I mean the premise was sort of set up that they had an annual trip, but no one has called me, so I don’t know.

Have you heard anything about The Invisible Man coming to DVD in the U.S.?

Vince:  I heard that it wasn’t.  That’s all I heard.  I heard that it’s only in the U.K. or something.  I have one from the U.K.  But I don’t know…there’s a big mystery around The Invisible Man that I don’t get.  You see like bad movies of the week that you can rent…I don’t get it...I really stopped trying to figure it out.

What is your idea of a dream project?

Vince:  Dream project?  Make a movie of The Invisible Man.  And have like Christopher Walken be the bad guy or someone like that.  Or how about John Malkovich be the bad guy?

We all saw the picture of you and your son Ben at the opening of the Garfield movie.  So one of the fans asked, how did Ben like the Garfield movie?

Vince:  I think Ben loved the Garfield movie.  A friend of mine, Camryn Manheim, and her son went and they asked us if we wanted to go.  I think he loved the movie and I think he loved the free food and rides afterward more.

Do you have anything else lined up that we can look forward to seeing you in the future?

Vince:  Yeah, there’s a movie on Sci Fi coming out called Larva.  It’s going to be aired in October or November…It’s a good movie.  I thought it was pretty funny.  It has a little bit of The Invisible Man’s quality to it…

I would love to do a series…I would actually love to do another series for Sci Fi based on like the continuation of The Invisible Man.  I mean, I don’t know if Craig told you this, but he set it up so that the next season would be like the next chapter of The Invisible Man…Call Craig Silverstein and ask him to write the pilot and give it to Sci Fi.    I bet you they would do it.  I’m serious.  Sci Fi would do anything…I’m not kidding...I think Sci Fi is interested in getting his business ‘cause every major studio is interested in working with Craig Silverstein so I don’t know why Sci Fi wouldn’t.

"...that's the beginning of a great story...about something that was difficult."

Do you have anything you’d like to say to the fans who are still working toward the dream of seeing I-Man again in some form?

Vince:  Yeah, just be careful because I’m totally with you in the same boat and as much as I love it and as much as I know you guys love it, there’s nothing wrong with persevering.  But, like I said, I think it’s a slim chance it’s going to be made, but, you know, that’s the beginning of a great story…about something that was difficult.  And if we ever did it, I know it would be a great movie and I think we’d all be really proud of it.  And I think it would give a whole new birth to…you know, The Invisible Man is much bigger than just me or you or the fans that are still interested in it.  It was this world that Matt Greenberg created that we’ve only scratched the surface of the potential of what it could be.  I mean, I used to send these emails to Matt about, you know, what the show could do and what it could mean and where it could go and we never had a chance…we never had the elements put together in order to do that.  The show was always just sort of flying by the seat of its pants.  If there was like a plan and way we wanted to go…I think the show and the premise is classic and modern at the same time and the potential is unlimited.  So thanks for all your support and we’ll see.
